Welcome to The Underground Event Venue, your premier event location in the heart of Flat Rock, Michigan. Nestled at 28771 Telegraph Rd Suite B, our unique venue is the perfect setting for a wide range of events, from weddings and receptions to baby showers, baptisms, bridal showers, private parties, graduations, birthdays, quinceañeras, bar and bat mitzvahs, corporate parties, holiday gatherings, networking events, training seminars, and more.

The Underground Event Venue offers a blend of historic charm and modern amenities. Our venue can comfortably seat up to 130 guests and features:

History of Our Building
Originally the Public Library of Flat Rock, it was previously the site of the General Store, W.S. Morey Co., built in 1876. The General Store burned down and was rebuilt, and today, The Underground Event Venue stands on the original foundation.
What is it like?
A Glimpse into Flat Rock’s History
Flat Rock was platted and recorded in 1838 with the ambition of connecting Lake Erie to Lake Michigan via a canal. While the canal project ultimately failed, Henry Ford established the Ford Motor Company Lamp Factory here in 1925. The Flat Rock Dam, built to provide hydroelectricity to the factory, remains a key part of Huroc Park, a popular local destination. Notably, every Mustang is assembled at the Ford Factory in Flat Rock.
Meet the Founders
Erica and Eric Hussey,
…The co-founders of The Underground Event Venue, have deep roots in the Downriver community. Erica, raised in a Hungarian family, grew up helping her mother cater events. Her father, a Hungarian refugee, moved to Delray, Detroit at 19, instilling a deep appreciation for family gatherings and significant life events.
Eric, with a background in real estate construction, is meticulous and loves creating and building things. Both sets of their parents were self-employed, which inspired Erica and Eric to provide work and business for their community and their family. The planning for the basement began three years ago with the goal of creating a space that offers more than just four walls. We wanted to infuse it with style, providing games and activities that encouraging people to enjoy each other’s company.The Underground Event Venue is a locally owned and family-operated venue, fully licensed and insured, dedicated to making your event unforgettable.
